Kari Lasee

Kari Lin Lasee(1961 - 2017)

Kari Lin Lasee

De Pere - Kari Alynne Lasee, age 56, of Coulterville, CA passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 in a tragic car accident. She was supposed to be coming home to her family in Wisconsin to celebrate Christmas for the first time in several years. Kari was born on September 4, 1961 to Alan and Janice Lasee in De Pere. She was one of the most beautiful and talented musicians you could ever meet, with violin being her first love. She could fiddle the night away playing bluegrass, country, and Cajun music, and the next day be performing classically as First Chair and Concert Mistress. When she was 17 years old she opened up for the famous Johnny Cash, and played with the great fiddler Vassar Clements at age 18. She carried her violin with her wherever her musical soul wandered and was ready to entertain friends, family, and even strangers at the drop of a hat. She passed along her love of music to her two children and talent to her guitarist son, Nicholas Krein. Even though performing was her first love, she would tell you her children were the light in her life and she was so proud of their accomplishments. Her other passion's included raising animals, nature, fishing, and exploring. She always put others before herself, and made sure to see the beauty in everything around her.

She is survived by children Shannon and Nicholas Krein, and their father Joel Krein; parents Alan and Janice Lasee; Grandmother Viola Smits; siblings Doug Schneider, Joe and Lori Ann Lasee, Max and Elizabeth Lasee, Jake and Angela Lasee, Suzanna Lasee, Polly and Mike Tulachka, Perry Lasee, also many other relatives and friends.

Kari was preceded in death by her Grandparents Joe and Florence Lasee, and Aloysius Smits; Godparents Elvira and Charlie Leininger.

Family and friends may visit at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Dr., Ledgeview, on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 9:00am to 10:45am. A Mass of Resurrection for Kari will be celebrated at 11:00am at the church with Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Kari's name.
